It is not surprising that most people reading this article believe that Jesus Christ is the word of God. John provides this insight in what he wrote below. “…God was the word.” The problem is that when Christians read John 1:1-2, they read from the beliefs of the church fathers who provided everything that they claimed you needed to know about the heretics whose writings somehow didn't survive. Because of these factors, you can easily believe everything that Tertullian states the Modalists believed is heresy, but he can only sell you that snake oil because none of their writings survived. In the court of law, no evidence means no case to argue. Can you imagine a prosecuting lawyer attempting to argue against a defendant while presenting zero evidence but only hearsay?

John 1:1—My Provisionary Greek Translation

If you are unable to comprehend what John wrote, then maybe your interpretation is based on a personal investment rather than the perspective that John wanted us to understand. John wrote from his perspective, not yours. John is writing from the perspective of a parabolic image that Moses left, explaining a reality that neither the church fathers nor you understand. We will examine the imagery John uses in his writing and reveal the truth I see in the scriptures.

Moses was learned in the wisdom of the Egyptians.

Many Christians have been taught that Moses rejected the Egyptians' beliefs and had nothing to do with them. Their leaders have gained this perspective from reading this verse in the book of Hebrews: 1“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” The writer's point about the bolded portion of the statement is this: what Moses learned about Jesus Christ surpasses the wisdom of the Egyptians regarding the death and resurrection of the Egyptian Pharaoh.

Moses did reject what the ancient Egyptians believed concerning Pharaoh and the other gods of Egypt but that didn’t mean that he never used those beliefs to speak about Jesus Christ. Christian leaders can’t explain the situation because they don’t realize that Moses wrote in a way that reflects his Egyptian upbringing. When you read Moses’ writings, you are reading from a man who grew up as a learned Egyptian. Stephen understood this fact and therefore included it in the history of the nation of Israel.

❝

“And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.”

Acts 7:22 KJV

Moses was learned in ALL the wisdom of the Egyptians. Stephen definitely provided us with a gem of a statement. This is probably the most important thing to understand about Moses. Stephen thought it so important that he included it in his rundown of Israel's history from Abraham to his death. You cannot simply read his statement and consider it unimportant. He is talking about the mindset of Moses. As an Egyptian in thought, Moses would have studied much of the material written by Egyptian priests. Material that was even ancient from his time in Egypt.

Moses would have known about “The Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep.” This text is written on papyrus and can be found in the British Museum today. Though this papyrus is believed to have been produced in 305 BCE, it is thought to be a copy of a work with beliefs that are older in ancient Egyptian history. It is an ancient Egyptian ritual and creation text designed to protect the sun god Ra by banishing the chaos serpent Apep. It is a collection of potent magical spells, ritual instructions, and a rare creation account. This creation account, quite frankly, resembles the one found in the book of Genesis. The creation portion is narrated by the primeval deity Neb-er-tcher ("Lord to the uttermost limit"), representing the everlasting creator before heaven and earth existed. When I first read this book, I did not understand what it meant because, like many of you reading this, I did not consider the importance of studying Egyptian wisdom. So I read it but tossed it aside in my mind as unimportant. Quite frankly, it is the most important thing I needed to understand concerning what Moses was doing when he used the information to write the book of Genesis. The Apostle Paul helped me understand how important this book was in light of the statements he made in the book of Romans.

“2For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.”

There is a lot to unpack in what Paul writes above but we have to unpack it before I talk about the Egyptian papyrus concerning “The Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep.” The Apostle Paul tells us a significant bit of information about the Egyptians:

  • The Egyptians purposely held the truth in a lie.

  • God showed the Egyptians the truth about himself through Noah, who possessed the truth before the flood.

  • What was invisible before creation is clearly seen by the things made; this includes his eternal power and his divinity, which are the observable, collective qualities, majesty, and properties of a deity.

  • The Egyptians knew who God was, but they rejected him as God.

  • The Egyptians changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like a corruptible man. Paul said the Egyptians made the invisible God into man.

That last bullet point is extremely important to our study in this article because what Paul said was the Egyptians made the invisible God in the image of a man. In the “Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep," you will read how the invisible God became a man named Osiris. This is what Osiris looks like to the Egyptians:

As you can see, Osiris is sitting on his throne as a man. I will show you who Osiris is shortly but it’s important to note that everything you see in this picture has meaning and significance. What I mean by that is that the imagery is parabolic in nature. It is a representation of some aspect of spiritual life for the Egyptians. They attempted to explain the spiritual reality by using imagery to compare what this realm is like. Forget that they didn’t know; they thought they did and with that way of thinking, they also changed the invisible God into an image of a man. So when you read what John wrote about the Word becoming flesh, God is mocking what the Egyptians believed by making it a reality.

The invisible God physically became a man in a physical body, which is why Paul says this: 3“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God and what that means is the invisible God personally brought himself into this physical realm as a man just like the Egyptians did when they made the invisible God into a corruptible man. He did this to mock the Egyptians and what they believed. Now we can take a look at the Papyrus of the “Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep,“ because in it you will see how the Egyptians state that the god Neb-er-thcer created the heaven and the earth.

“THE BOOK OF KNOWING THE EVOLUTIONS OF RA, AND OF OVERTHROWING APEP.”

“[These are] the words of the god Neb-er-tcher, who said:”

Neb-er-thcer is the invisible god. Pay attention to what he said.

“I am the creator of what hath come into being, and I myself came into being under the form of the god Khepera, and I came into being in primeval time.”

Before we move on, allow me to break down what this invisible god of Egypt has stated.

The first thing that the Egyptians believed was that Neb-er-thcer was the creator of the things that came into the physical and spiritual realms. Remember what Paul wrote: “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God…” But the Egyptian priest wrote what they claimed Neb-er-thcer said; they have credited the creation of heaven and earth to a false god. They knew who God was because God told them through Noah.

This false god called Neb-er-thcer states that he came into being under the form of the god Khepera and he came into being in primeval time. Now, if you do not know what the term “primeval" means, let me tell you. The term “primeval” means "the beginning of time." So Neb-er-thcer claims to have brought himself into being at the beginning of time (day one) as Khepera. Who do the Egyptians say that Khepera is? The Egyptians imagined that Neb-er-thcer brought himself into being as a scarab beetle. They did this not for the visual depiction but for the beetle's function. The scarab beetle rolls dung in the form of a circle. That dung was depicted as the sun coming into being, which is what “khepera” means. What the Egyptians observed was this: in the dung that the beetle rolled into the sun was a seed that came from the beetle. Out of the dung that was depicted as the sun was a scarab beetle called “Khepera.” This phenomenon is why the Egyptians state that Neb-er-thcer came into being under the form of Khepera, who is the god Ra, who is the sun. This event was believed to happen on the first day. However, I want you to notice that Neb-er-thcer, the invisible god, created himself to be seen in the physical realm. He is the same god who became a god that the Egyptians could see.

At this point of the “Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep,” we have one god, the so-called creator of everything, who created himself to be seen in the physical realm. This one god is also known as Khepera, the sun god Ra. Let’s continue!

“I came into being in the form of Khepera, and I am the creator of what did come into being; that is to say, I formed myself out of the primeval matter, and I made and formed myself out of the substance which existed in primeval time.”

What existed in primeval time was the waters of Nun. The waters that were in the beginning before the god made the first piece of real estate to stand on. Before the ground was brought into being, there was only water, and that is how khepera came into being, out of the water. So when you read Genesis 1:1-2, you are reading a mockery of this "Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep,“ and I will show you why. Before I do, let me show you his next statement.

“My name is AUSARES (i.e., Osiris), who is the primeval matter of primeval matter.”

Neb-er-thcer has now claimed to call himself Ausares or, in Greek, Osiris. The Egyptian meaning of the name Auser is "Throne of the Eye." The “Eye” is the sun, which is the sun god Ra (Ra being the Egyptian word for sun). Neb-er-thcer came into being as Khepera (the sun god Ra) and called himself yet another god, the god Osiris, which means “throne of {the} Eye." Neb-er-thcer is the king of heaven and earth. The one god that became three. This is where the real influence of the Trinity comes from but it is the same one god. Now you see how the trinitarians got their doctrine WRONG.

This papyrus begins the myth of the sun god Ra coming to earth from the east and dying in the west. Everything about how Osiris is the god of the dead and the living points right back to Neb-er-thcer, who is, according to the Egyptians, the creator of all things.

Neb-er-thcer is not finished with his statements so we must continue to see what else we can learn about this Egyptian god.

“4I brought my own name into my mouth as a word of power, and I forthwith came into being under the form of things which are and under the form of Khepera.”

This statement shows how the Egyptians believed their god's name could be spoken as a word. John 1:1 should make more sense now because John is driving his understanding of Moses’ mockery from this belief that came from the Egyptians. Let me remind you what John wrote: “[In] [{the} beginning] [was] [the] [word] [and] [the] [word] [was] [with] [God] [and] [God] [was] [the] [word]. The word was with God because he spoke his name as a word. John knows that Moses is mocking the Egyptians' concept and understanding of their creation story. You also need to understand that this invisible god came into being under the form of things, which is so he could be many.

“I was ONE: by myself, and there was no other being who worked with me in that place. I made all the things under the forms of which I appeared then by means of the Soul-God, which I raised into firmness at that time from out of Nu, from a state of inactivity.”

This part of the statement is why Moses wrote this: “5[Attentively listen], [Israel]: [Yahuah] [our Elohim], [Yahuah] {is} [One!]” The Trinitarians will tell you that God is one God but three distinct persons. Moses knows that Yahuah, our God, is One Yahuah, the one who created all things according to Psalms 148:1-5, and you can see that Moses is mocking the Egyptian version of creation in favor of the truth given to him by the One true God, using the imagery found in the wisdom of the Egyptians.

"…and there was no other being who worked with me in that place…”

Isaiah writes part of this statement above in chapter 45:5-6 when he wrote what God said to him and the Israelites: “[I {am}] [Yahuah] [and {there is} none] [else;] {There is} [no] [God] [beside me.] [I will clothe you,] [though] [you have [not] known me,] [for {the} intent] {that} [they will know] {that} [from {the} rising] [of {the} sun] [and from her place in {the} west], [that {there is} none] [beside me] [I {am}] [Yahuah] [{there is} no one] [else.]”

This kind of paints tomatoe paste in the face of the Trinitarians who believe that Jesus Christ is distinct from the father and the holy spirit and vice versa. I have shown you this information from the papyrus of the “Book of Knowing the Evolutions of Ra and of Overthrowing Apep,” because Moses uses the imagery from it to speak on what God has done and was going to do. Since he declares the end from the beginning, let’s look at what Moses wrote about the beginning.

“1) [In {the} beginning] [God] created] [the sea of waters] [and] [the Earth] 2) [and the Earth] [was] [an uninhabited waste] [and void] [and darkness][upon {the} face] [of {the} primeval waters] [and the Spirit] [of God] [{was} hovering] [over {the} face] [of the waters] 3)[and [God] said] [may he be Light] [and he was Light]”

And who was this light that God said, “May he be Light?”

“6[He was] [the true] [Light] [that {was}] [to illuminate] [every] [man] [{that} comes] [into] [the] [world].”

Because John understands the imagery of the light, John doubles down on this statement in another place.

“7[Now] [this] [is] [the] [message] [that] [we have heard] [from] [him] [and] [we make known] [to you] [that] [God] [is] [Light] [and] [darkness] [is] [not] [in] [him] [at all].”

John is pointing back to Genesis 1:4 when he writes this.

“84) [And [Elohim] saw] [The Light] [because {it is} good] [and [Elohim] will cause a distinction] [between] [The Light] [and between] [The Darkness].”

This is the part where God sees himself in the physical realm in the beginning as a prophetic utterance for a future time. Since God is Light, then we, he said, “May he be Light and he was Light,” God was speaking prophetically in the beginning by bringing himself into the physical realm to dwell among his creation. Some things about Genesis are prophetic, speaking of the future and somethings are literal things that happened in the true creation account. One day, I will show you how you can tell the difference. Until then, Shalom!
